Our Story

Etter's Golf Center opened on Reading Road the same year Evendale became a village. For seventy years it was a plain, well-loved place: a driving range, mini golf and a pro shop on 15 acres along Mill Creek, set up almost exactly the way it was the day it opened.

Todd Gailar was one of the regulars. In 2020, on his way to hit a bucket, he started picturing what the place could be. He was fifteen years into a banking career. He asked the owner, Steve Etter, if he'd sell, promised to keep it a driving range, and bought it with a small group of friends. They got the keys in September 2021.

Restored, not rebuilt

Contractors told them to tear the old flat-roofed building down. They renovated it instead, kept the midcentury lines, and turned it into the property's first full restaurant and bar. The range never closed during the work. They restored the mini golf and added a patio, fire pits and cornhole.

The kitchen

Double smashburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, house-smoked wings and loaded tots. There's local beer on draft and a cocktail list. The Enquirer's verdict was that food at a mini golf spot "shouldn't be this good."

The mastodon

In the summer of 1990, two Blue Ash locals hunting for lost range balls found a mastodon jawbone sticking out of the East Fork of Mill Creek. ("We thought it was a dinosaur.") The woods next door are now the Lighted Forest, built by partners Bill Roberts and Alexander Fee, with a mastodon on the trail.
